Whether you are interested in having someone else film your first underwater dive, or whether you would prefer to learn how to make your own underwater movies, Koh Tao can deliver. Several Videography studios have opened over the last few years, recruiting divers and training them to be underwater movie-makers. Many learn the skills of underwater filming and in-studio editing as part of their overall underwater videography course. This intro day to UW videography will teach you:
This is a one day course. In the morning we take you out on the boat, where we will explain to you the basics of UW videography. During 2 dives you will be equipped with a HD Video camera and take your own shots under the supervision of one of our Videographers. We will be back for lunch on the island and in the afternoon you get a short introduction to videocutting and put together your own video with the help of a Video PRO. After editing the video it will be burned on a dvd, so you can share your experience with your friends and family at home.

The Pro Underwater Videography course is unlike any other in the world whereas by completing the course you are awarded a recognized BSAC Pro Certification card. The course mainly consists of 12 dives where you will be equipped with a Sony HD camera & Aquatica HD Wave Housing, where you learn a multitude of skills needed in enabling you to become a Pro Underwater Videographer. These include entry & exit techniques with a camera, use of white balance, competent fining & position in water, macro filming, composition & correct use of light whilst still adhering to safe diving practices. In addition to this you are allocated at least 50 hours in the editing suit assisted by a fully qualified Underwater Videography Instructor at all times.
This course is designed to introduce student divers to the selection, use and care of underwater video equipment and the basic principles of underwater video production.
To qualify for the Underwater Videographer specialty course you must be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization.
